Callaway GBB II Driver | Great Big Bertha II

Getting out of the tee box is just as important as putting. The way the club setups (the visual) and your stance (feel)affects your confidence. The GBB II head is a slightly longer, narrower pearshape than most traditional pearshaped heads. It is the same design as the community rejected C4. I tried several lofts with several shaft variations and determined the 8.5* pro series with a non-stock low torque mid/high flex pt 77 gram shaft.

The driving range I go to has a road that requires a 325 yds carry. Luckily there is a huge mound at the deep end because I was hitting the middle of the mound. I tried the Cleveland, Titleist, Cobra, Taylormade, and a few of the other big doggies. The GBB II was the club I selected based on its setup, feel, and consistency for me. It provided me with confidence to put it where I was aiming. Before you buy a driver, I recommend going to a range and demoing several clubs with several shaft combinations (stock shafts - esp Callaway, are usually softer, ie a stock Stiff is really a Regular, and a stock Regular is more like a Senior) until you find one that produces the shot pattern and launch angle you desire. Why do manufacturers label weaker shafts stronger? Marketing. Makes you feel more like a man. Who cares if you can't break 80, at least you're playing with a stiff shaft!
